Summary (Carbon and command line) works just fine on Panther in our preliminary testing.

Unrelated to Summary, I don't reccomend upgrading to Panther just yet unless you are feeling very adventurous. There are some serious problems with external FireWire drives, and a few less critical issues to be worked out. I would wait for the 10.3.1 patch to come out and then upgrade.
