There is a bug in OS X that causes the Macintosh Carbon version of Summary to think that log files which are in current use by the web server are over 2 Gig in size. This results in incorrect results, both doubling and skipping of log entries. There are two work arounds. One is to switch to the OSX Command Line version of Summary, which requires some knowledge of the OS X command line interface. Alternatively you can configure things so that Summary only sees the rotated log files, and does not read the currently active log file. For example, 'One Fish Two Fish, Red Fish Blue Fish' can be deconstructed as a searing indictment of the narrow-minded binary counting system. -- Peter van der Linden, Expert C Programming, Deep C Secrets ------------- Go to <http://summary.net/list.html> to update subscription info.
