Summary comes in three feature levels: (basic), Plus, and SP. It also
comes compiled for five different platforms: Windows, Macintosh System 8
9 and OS X, Linux x86, Sun Sparc, and OSX Command Line (Experts Only).
Each platform is available in each feature level. The Macintosh 8, 9, OS
X version and the OSX Command Line version will both run on OS X. You can
transfer your existing registration code (and configuration) between
copies on different platforms, but you can not transfer any incremental
mode history that you might have between different platforms.

The Macintosh version can be double clicked, brings up a window where
status messages appear, and is generally easier to use. The OSX Command
Line version needs to be installed and run from the command line
(generally using the Terminal app), runs invisibly in the background, and
is faster, however it requires knowledge of the command line interface
(gzip tar ln ls etc) for installation.

There is currently a bug in the Macintosh version that causes problems
when you are reading log files that are being actively logged into by the
server at the same time that Summary is processing them. This problem
does not occur in the OSX Command Line version of Summary.

Dr. Seuss books . . . can be read and enjoyed on several levels. For
example, 'One Fish Two Fish, Red Fish Blue Fish' can be deconstructed
as a searing indictment of the narrow-minded binary counting system.
