When switching from the "Macintosh OS 8, 9, and OS X" version of Summary
to the "OSX Command Line (Experts Only)" version of Summary (or when
switching between any of the other platforms Summary runs on, such as
from Windows to Linux) you should follow the upgrade install instructions
in step 4 of the version 1.5 upgrade notes,
<http://summary.net/upgrade.html#4>. Everything there applies, except
that Custom HTML configuration information will transfer correctly from
Summary version 2.0 or higher.

Your old and new installs will be completely separate. It is simplest to
quit the old version before making the transition, but you can continue
running the old version for a little while during the transition if you
want.

as a searing indictment of the narrow-minded binary counting system.
