One more thought. Older versions of Safari had a bug that caused behavior
similar to what you are describing. Other than that I don't know what 
might
be going on. Could you send me directly (not to the list),
<jason@summary.net>, a copy of your configuration file and a sample of a 
URL
that you go to that prompts for a name/password? I would like to try to
duplicate this problem here.
