[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] [Summary-Talk] Problem with using Summary from Excel.
I have written some Excel and Visual Basic systems to combine web pages and Summary Statistics to create reports showing the actual web page with the link stats overlaid on top of them. I use the Excel (tabbed output) version of data to be able to parse it for source and destination links. This works very nicely, except for one thing. No matter what sub directory I search, it always asks for authorization before reading the data, even for sub folders that have no password on them. I do have a password for configuration changes. After sniffing on the transactions when my program runs, I found out that the Microsoft embedded Web Browser I use tries to see of there are Front Page Extensions activated on the server. It does this by looking for the page http://Summary-Server:9000/_vti_inf.html first before it reads the page with the actual data. This is what is causing the 401 return code asking for authorization. Is there a way for summary to receive this request and ignore it rather than return the 401 code?
