[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] [Summary-Talk] Wish we could leave it running
We're using Summary Pro 2.5.2a. We'd like to be able to just leave it running, having it automatically run stats once a day. This odes not seem to be possible. A first run after launching usually goes well. After that, it's iffy. It usually takes no more than another run or two to generate a page of errors opening log files it read earlier without complaint. At this point, connecting to the overview page produces a page void of data. One of our clients is very unhappy when they try to get stats and can't. My boss wants me to have Summary write the stats to HTML files - which we used to do - but that's such a processor-intensive process, and the wear and tear on the hard drive is enormous. I'd prefer to be able to just leave it sitting there, but that option doesn't appear to be open to us. Is there something I can do to massage either the logs or Summary to make it work the way I want? We're running WebSTAR 5.3.2 on Mac OS 10.3.2. Logs are generally gzipped.
