[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] [Summary-Talk] Unable to aquire db?
Hey folks,
I'm running into a rather strange problem...
We're processing stats for about 18 separate sites. Each one I want to
have full control over the reports.
What I thought I'd do, was setup 'virtual' IP addresses on my linux
box,
and run multiple copies of Summary, one for each site, with separate
directories for data/, logs/, etc.
The problem is, is that while this works briefly, eventually every one
of the summary processes begin to report:
Unable to acquire database access, please try again in a moment!
And they never recover w/o stopping, deleting the database, and
restarting summary/reprocessing the logs.
Anyone have any ideas on how to work around this?
Sum 2.3.12 / Linux (unknown dist, but recent kernel I think)
On a side note, are the reverse-IP resolution performance issues fixed
on Sun? Under Linux rev-IP resolution screamed, but under Solaris it blew.
Last time we tested was w/ Sum 2.3.2, under Solaris 2.6. Course... That
might have been a solaris 2.6 thing.... Regardless, please say yes, so I
can
ditch this silly Linux box. It's messing up the symmetry of my equipment
racks :)
