That assertion message is related to reaching the 2 Gig limit on the 
database.

But if you see a message that looks like "Warning: input file larger than 
2 Gig, reading truncated at 2 Gig.", that is something different. Summary 
can only read individual log files up to 2 Gig (4 Gig on some platforms 
in Summary 2.5), and that is unrelated to the database size limit. Log 
files can be split apart into smaller files, and Summary can read several 
log files that total *way* over 2 Gig.
