So the question will be, "Is the way the >analysis is performed by Summary, for duration specific information, >all things being equal, unique to Summary?" All of the log analysis programs have small differences in their approach to measuring the different quantities, but we tend to all use very similar approaches. So, it is unlikely that any other program does *exactly* what Summary does, but several other programs do things which are very similar. There is one other approach to measuring view duration, that isn't supported by Summary. It requires adding a substantial amount of Javascript code to each page, which then loads some "extra" small image files from the server each time the user takes an action. This approach is potentially more accurate for measuring view duration but it slows down your page load times and gets you only a small improvement in measurement accuracy. For example, 'One Fish Two Fish, Red Fish Blue Fish' can be deconstructed as a searing indictment of the narrow-minded binary counting system. -- Peter van der Linden, Expert C Programming, Deep C Secrets ------------- Go to <http://summary.net/list.html> to update subscription info.
