[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] Re: [Summary-Talk] processes exiting abnormally
I can't tell exactly what is going wrong here, but I have some guesses. First, you should upgrade to OS X 10.3.7. There are some kernel bugs fixed in the newer versions that might have some bearing on this. Even if it makes no difference to Summary, upgrading to 10.3.7 seems to be a good bet at this point. If it hasn't been rebooted in months then restart the machine and the problems might well go away. OS X has demonstrated stability problem in some configurations (but not in most others) after running without a restart for long periods. If it is possible for you to run this same Summary configuration on a different machine for a little while we could rule out (or prove) any possible hardware problems. There was more than one bug with this symptom in Summary 2.5.1 and earlier, but no one has reported this problem since then. This could be yet another similar problem in Summary, but it seems worth checking out some of the other possibilities first. For example, 'One Fish Two Fish, Red Fish Blue Fish' can be deconstructed as a searing indictment of the narrow-minded binary counting system. -- Peter van der Linden, Expert C Programming, Deep C Secrets ------------- Go to <http://summary.net/list.html> to update subscription info.
