Any progress on this (potential) bug?
I reported a similar problem several weeks ago, and it still seems to
be happening with Summary 2.5.5. The error I'm getting is the same
as John:
StrTable.cpp:895: failed assertion
One of our processes exited abnormally!
Running for 1 hour(s) and 0 minutes at May 30, 2005 12:55AM.
The best solution I have found so far is to set up a crontab to quit
and restart summary (OSX CLI version) once a day, just before it does
its daily log run. Also disabling incremental processing (as Jason
suggested) and cranking the number of days to report on down to 90
(from around 180) seems to help.
However, even in this configuration Summary will still abnormally
exit during log processing between one and three times per week. I'm
always able restart summary, let it restore from a backup slot, and
then manually process without problems.
I rebuilt my config from scratch a few weeks ago (man, that sucked)
in hopes of fixing the problem, but unfortunately that didn't seem to
help either.
Here's my Program Status report, if it helps.

I'm running on an xServe 2x2Ghz, 2GB RAM, OSX Server 10.3.8.
Feature request: more date/time stamps in summary.log, so we can get
more accurate details of when things (like crashes) happen.
Thanks,
Dale
