[Summary-Talk] Configuring Virtual Domains

I want to use Method #2 for my virtual domains and I see I need to add
%{HOST}I to my log string but where does it go? Does it matter?

Current apache combined string setings...

%h %l %u %t \"%r\" %>s %b \"%{Referer}i\" \"%{User-Agent}i\"

If I donšt use Method #2 and go with #4 is there a way to get rolled 
logs into the subfolders. I have been using method #4 with symbolic 
links but was not rolling the logs.
