[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] [Summary-Talk] referrer spam
hi all. i curently use webalizer, but i'm about to take the plunge and switch to summary. it's light-years ahead of all the other packages i looked at, mostly because it's the only one that actually infers "interesting" events, which is a huge qualitative edge. that alone sold me. having said that, does anyone have any tips on dealing with referrer spam using summary? it's a huge problem for my site, and i handle it mainly with a hand-maintained blacklist. (a gross hack, i know.) http://snarfed.org/space/referrer+spam i'd be ok with porting my blacklist to summary, as long as it can handle filters with thousands of lines. i'm open to better ideas, though. i'd love to add support for MT-Blacklist or SpamLookup (links below), but since summary isn't open source, i'd settle for a script that automatically updates a summary filter from public blacklists. before i go hack that together, any comments would be greatly appreciated. http://www.jayallen.org/projects/mt-blacklist/ http://bradchoate.com/projects/spamlookup/ -Ryan p.s. does anyone know of a utility to migrate webalizer config files to summary? if not, i'll probably tackle that too. -- http://ryan.barrett.name/ ------------- Go to <http://summary.net/list.html> to update subscription info.
