We think that we found the cause of the problem you (Mark Jacobson) were
having. More recent versions of Summary crash (or occasionally hang) on
OS X 10.2.x if the folder containing Summary, or any of the other
folders containing that folder back to the disk drive name, contain any
of the following characters:
, < > / ? '
comma, less than, greater than, slash, question mark, or single quote
On OS X 10.3.x and 10.4.x this problem only happens with single quote.
Assuming you have one or more of these characters in one of your folder
names, you should be able to get the most recent version of Summary
working by renaming the folder(s), or moving Summary, so that folders
containing Summary don't use any of those characters in their name.
If you have time to check, I would be interested in finding out if this
is the problem you have been running into.
Thanks
Jason

Dr. Seuss books . . . can be read and enjoyed on several levels. For
example, 'One Fish Two Fish, Red Fish Blue Fish' can be deconstructed
as a searing indictment of the narrow-minded binary counting system.
