[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] [Summary-Talk] Corrupt DNS cache file?
Hello, I've somehow managed to mess up the DNS cache file (I think). The last time I fed my monthly log files into Summary my internet connection was broken. Summary was running unattended and I didn't notice it. Now, the reverse IP lookup phase allegedly retrieved domain names at the rate of 830000 per second! Or something like that, it was finished in a few seconds, while it normally takes hours over my relatively slow (384Kb/sec adsl) internet connection (at about 10 to 18 IPs per second). So, I think I have 2 problems: 1) bring the cache back in a state that allows proper processing of IPs the next time I run Summary, and 2) retrieve the domain names for all IPs that are still numeric only. Any suggestions? Thanks, Luc ------------- Go to <http://summary.net/list.html> to update subscription info.
