Re: [Summary-Talk] Adding "Visits" To Directories Report

Jason,

In a spirit of public debate and growing my own understanding of
these kinds of issues, I'm not sure I agree entirely with your
example, "For example a request for /a/b/c/d/e/f/g/index.html should
count as a visit to /a, /a/b, /a/b/c, /a/b/c/d, /a/b/c/d/e,
/a/b/c/d/e/f, and /a/b/c/d/e/f/g."

In Michelle's case, her client wants to see how many visits have hit
a given "popular" directory. Any number of those visits could have
hit /a/b/c/d/e/f/g/index.html via a link from, for example, the home
page. In such instance, the visit has gone directly to the
destination directory, effectively without visiting any of the
directories above it. Is it accurate, then, to count that as a visit
to each of those parent directories?

Thanks.
CJR
