[Summary-Talk] Data Interpretation and Question

Jason,

I'm hoping you can help me solve a discrepancy I'm seeing in the log
analysis using Summary.

Basically I'm seeing a spike on visits for a site on a day in which an
email had gone out containing a URL for a specific page. That's all
well and good, but if you start to look at the breakdown of page
visits, I see the spike but not the people. For instance, the Overview
is showing 3,171 visits across the site on that one day, but I only
see 80 hits on that day for the page specified in the email, and only
28 hits for the home page of the site. The rest of the pages in the
site break down similarly. How is that possible? Even counting up all
the pages of the site I'm not seeing 3000 visits, especially since I
would imagine "hits" as defined would be greater than "visits".

So it seems to say one thing in one screen and another elsewhere. I'm
wondering if I'm misinterpreting the results or if Summary is doing
something funky with the statistics. Any advice on figuring out where
these supposed visitors actually went? :) I'm just finding that
finding something like how many visits for a given page on a given day
is very difficult to find. If you can point me in the right direction
I'd appreciate it.

Along these lines, The spike I want to observe was on the 11th of last
month, which no longer shows in the Daily Pages information. I would
like to see daily page information beyond the last eight days. Is
there a configuration option or other way to do that?
