To update Summary 3:

  1. Download the appropriate version of Summary using the links below.

  1. If Summary is running, quit out of it.
  2. Run the installer, which you just downloaded, and have it install the new version in the same place you installed the old version. Remember to do a custom install if you are running Summary as a service.
  1. Install your new copy of Summary where you want it.
  2. Copy the summary.conf file from the Config folder of the old version to the Config folder of the new version. Copy or move the Data folder, and Logs folder from your old copy to the new copy.
  1. Start your new copy of Summary. If you are using Summary in incremental mode it will probably load a suitable backup for you automatically. You should check to see that an appropriate backup was loaded. If Summary does not automatically load a backup, you can restore an appropriate backup from the Tools page. There is a link to the Tools page on the main configuration page.

  • Fixed a cross site scripting vulnerability. If an attacker was able to induce an authorized user of Summary to click on a specially crafted URL the attacker could in theory have gained access to their copy of Summary with rights equal to that of the user.

To update to Summary 2.5.5:

  1. Install your new copy of Summary where you want it.

What’s new in version 2.5.5?

  • Six new reports: CGI Tags, CGI Tags and Values, Hijacking by Bytes, Referring Domains by Bytes, Robots by Bytes, and Virtual Domains by Bytes.
  • Config, column, and report help now appear in a popup window.
  • Several small changes and improvements to the Bandwidth and Visitors overviews, including several new sections reporting on possible causes for high bandwidth and a new Screen Size at least section.
  • Plus many other improvements and bug fixes.

Summary 2.3.14/15

Summary 2.3 is no longer the current version of Summary and it is no longer officially supported. Registered users of Summary 2.0-2.3 can still update to version 2.3.14/15 for free. If you want to upgrade from 2.0-2.3 to 2.5, click here.

Summary 1.5.7

Summary 1.x is no longer officially supported. However, all registered users of Summary version 1.x can update to version 1.5.7 (or 1.5.6 or 1.5.5 depending on platform) for free. If you want to upgrade from 1.x to 2.5, click here.

To update to 1.5.7 (or 1.5.6 or 1.5.5):

  • This is a maintinace release of the 1.x version of Summary for people who have not upgraded to Summary 2.
