Learn about the new features in Summary 3. We have added many
exciting new features including State/Province reporting (Using GeoIP), crawl dates
by major search indexers (Plus, SP Lite, and SP only), traffic spike detection, and
much more.

Summary 3 is a $15 upgrade from Summary 2.5-2.6, $20 from older versions
(lists for $59). New features include:
- Completely redesigned task oriented overviews with pie charts and interactive
bar charts and line graphs.
- New appearance throughout.
- Visitors : ISPs report.
- Visitors : Robots : Agents report.
If you purchased Summary on, or after, March 28, 2006,
the update to Summary 3 is free. |
Summary Plus 3 is a $60 upgrade from Summary Plus 2.5-2.6, $80 from older
versions of Summary Plus or Pro (lists for $249).
Summary Plus has all the version 3 features of Summary and:
- Added several new rows to the Compare Time Periods report.
- A third high memory usage report.
- Optional SMTP name/password authentication when sending e-mail.
- Visit tracking tags now count the tracking tag as their referrer.
- Text size configuration.

Summary SP Lite 3 is a $125 upgrade from Summary SP Lite 2.5-2.6 (lists for $495).
Summary SP Lite has all the version 3 features of Summary Plus and:
- Numerous small changes and extensions to the custom HTML support.
If you purchased Summary SP Lite on, or after, March 28,
2006, the update to Summary SP Lite 3 is free. |
Summary SP 3 is a $175 upgrade from Summary SP 2.5-2.6, $230 from older
versions (lists for $695).
Summary SP has all the version 3 features of Summary, Summary Plus, and Summary
SP Lite.

Purchase your upgrade online and get a version 3 registration code. Start by entering your current registration code here. You will then be offered the various upgrades that are available to you. On the next page you enter your order information. Your version 3 registration code will be emailed to you within one to four hours if you pay by credit card. Other forms of payment will take somewhat longer.
Upgrading Summary 2.5-2.6 to Summary 3 costs $15.
Upgrading older versions to Summary 3 costs $20.

Download the correct version of Summary 3 for the platform you are using. The download is the same for Summary, Summary Plus, Summary SP Lite, and Summary SP. Which features are enabled depend on the registration code entered.
Install and configure your new software. Follow these directions to insure that Summary 3 will read your existing configuration file and convert all of the settings. Note: If you have any custom HTML settings, they will need to be manually reconfigured.

- If Summary is running, quit out of it.
- Run the installer, which you just downloaded, and have it
install the new version in the same place you installed the old version. The installer will ask you if you are sure you want to use the existing directory, say yes.
- Launch your new copy of Summary.
- If you have disabled automatic log processing on startup you should
manually trigger a log processing run.

- Remove the Summary service using the "Remove Service" script in your existing Summary folder.
- Run the installer, which you just downloaded, and have it
install the new version in the same place you installed the old version. The installer will ask you if you are sure you want to use the existing directory, say yes. Remember to include the service component.
- Reinstall the Summary service using the "Install Service" script in the Summary folder.

- Install your new Summary 3 where you want it.
- Copy the "summary.conf" file and any custom HTML files from the old Config folder to the new Config folder.
- If you have a "userpages" folder, copy or move it from your old copy to the new copy.
- Copy or move the Logs folder and Data folder from your old copy to the new copy.

- Install your new Summary 3 where you want it.
- Copy the contents of the Config folder from the old copy to the new copy.
- Copy or move the Logs folder from your old copy to the new copy.
- Make sure you dont copy/move the Documentation (docs) folder or Data folder from the old version to the new version.
- If you are upgrading from version 1.5 or newer you should copy/move
the dnscache file, located in the data folder, to the new copy.
- If you have disabled automatic log processing on startup you should
manually trigger a log processing run.
